Formosa takes his hat off to successful entrepreneur
Hat shop bucking the economic trend with expansion
Taunton entrepreneur Lisa Burrows has been praised by Mark Formosa, the Conservative Parliamentary candidate for Taunton Deane, for bucking the economic trend and growing her hat-making business.
Mark was invited on Saturday to attend the opening of Ms Burrows’ relocated shop with the milliner, and the Mayor and Mayoress of Taunton Deane, Councillor Tim Slattery and his wife Gill.
The new premises at 14a The Bridge, Taunton, are larger and more prestigious than her previous shop and should see the business go from strength to strength.
Mark Formosa said: “I was delighted to be part of a special day for Lisa and her hat shop and I congratulate her on being able to beat the credit crunch when so many other businesses have lately been suffering.
“This terrible recession which has been brought about by Gordon Brown’s inept handling of the UK economy is causing misery for families all over the country as businesses to go bust and people to lose their jobs.
“So, it is all the more pleasing to see a local Taunton Deane business which is thriving and continuing to provide employment and good quality service and products for local people.
“Conservatives strongly believe in supporting small businesses as they are the economic lifeblood of our community.”
